blah, etc.

I worked at CB today from 11 to 2:30. It was blah...

After that I came home and unloaded the dishwasher...did dishes...straightened up a bit.

Then I watched most of
American Gangster with Jesse.

Then I cooked dinner (SOOOOO YUMMY!) It was a recipe I got from AllRecipes.com called "Candied Chicken," Hashbrown casserole, and a Romaine salad with tomato, carrots, broccoli, cheese, egg and Jesse's had bacon. I mixed up some honey mustard dressing and it was pretty yummy.

I gotta go to bed early tonight cause I gotta be at CB tomorrow at 8:30am. More Blah.....

Bubbles

hate 2 B late

Ooops. This morning was a rainy yucky morning....As soon as I walked into Cracker Barrel today I was being hugged. I was confused. This lady..her name is Terri (but everyone calls her Momma) was hugging me and saying "I was so worried about you!" Then it donned on me. I MUST BE LATE!

I was supposed to be there at 10 but I showed up at 10:25 because I thought I was supposed to be there at 10:30! Oh well, they weren't busy and they didn't need me so it was ok.

The day went by pretty slow. I had a crappy section earlier but around noon the manager "cut" the floor so I had 4 tables. I only sold 166 dollars worth of food, but I somehow managed to make 40 dollars

After work I worked around the house a lot. Laundry, organized some cabinets, unloaded the dishwasher and just put random stuff away.

Holli invited us to dinner tonight. It was soo good! She made Chicken and Noodles, carrots, green beans, and biscuits....and I made mashed potatoes and tea! :) She also made some delicious butterscotch chip cookies that had instant vanilla pudding in the batter. SO GOOD! I am gonna get the recipe for those!

After dinner we hung out a while and then watched American Idol!! I am in love with David Archuletta!!! He's adorable and has a beautiful voice.

Tomorrow I don't have to work! YAY!! Jesse and I are gonna go to Walmart. Sounds fun, huh?

Country Roads...Take me Home

Jesse and I spent the weekend in WV. We weren't supposed to go back until next weekend..but thats a long story.

We drove home on Thursday night... It was around 8 when we got to my parents house.

On Friday morning we went to Cracker Barrel in Barboursville to pick up a couple of paychecks from December. We talked to people for a long time. Charles and Ruth were there and they wanted to chat our ears off. I was happy to see everyone there...Allison Roe, Kathy Smith, Carmen, Brenda, Chris, Jeff, Alan, even Becky! :)

Then we went to Taco Bell. I had a baja chalupa, I love those things. They probably have 500 calories. I'd check the website but I'm afraid.

Jesse bought a new laptop at the Huntington Circuit City while we were there too.

Then we went to visit with his dad in Ona.... after we drove by the old house. It looked just the same.

We hung out there for awhile, watched most of Apollo 13, then we went to Jeremy's house. After that.... we went back to Mom and Dad's.

On Saturday we went to Sarah and Jay's around 1:30pm. Almost all of Jesse's family were there and Brian and Jessica. Sarah and Jay just bought a bunch of new furniture and a 42" plasma TV from Big Sandy. Jeremy was there trying to mount the thing on the wall for them. We were there for over 5 hours and when we left Jeremy was still working on it.

After that....we went to Mike and Allison's house to play some ping pong. Well, the boys play ping pong. Jessica and I play old school nintendo. We couldn't beat the 7th world of Super Mario 3. It was pretty pathetic.

They turned out all the lights and turned on the strobe light and some dancin' music. It was pretty fun :) Hannah, Abagail and Emma had a blast. Emma kept saying, "Now THIS is how you spend a Saturday night!" hahaha.

On Sunday we went to church at Maranatha. Then we went to my parents house and had Mexican Lasagna and a really yummy salad. Jesse wasn't feeling good. We took a 2 hour nap. Since he wasn't feeling well we decided that I would call in to Cracker Barrel and just drive home on Monday. :o) Yay! 4 day weekend!

After our loooong nap we weren't sleepy. Jesse stayed up watching TV and I finished a whole Nicholas Sparks book (Dear John).

If anyone reading this likes Nicholas Sparks...and enjoys a good cry...you HAVE TO read that book. It was the best Nicholas Sparks book I ever read.... but you'll cry more than you did in The Notebook! I hope they make this one into a movie too!
Since I finished both of my books, I reserved a couple more today. I should be getting Nights in Rodanthe pretty soon. I also got on the list to get The Choice but its new and I am number 61 in the queue.
I also reserved the new Homer Hickom book, Red Helmet. I think its about a mine rescue...I should get it very soon too! :)
I LOVE MY LIBRARY!!

long time... no blog

ok..... so its been awhile (sorry)
My parents came in last weekend. I think they had a pretty good time.

On Valentines Day Jesse received a letter in the mail from his brother Mike's daughter, Emma. It included a paper doll looking character called "Flat Stanley" and a letter from "him." It was like Flat Stanley went on a vacation and stayed at our house. It was kinda fun. We took Flat Stanley everywhere with us for the weekend. We took pictures with him. It made the weekend more interesting I think!

Here is the letter I typed up to send back to Emma.....

Dear Emma,

Hello! Flat Stanley arrived in Winston-Salem, NC on Thursday February 14th, Valentine's Day! He stayed in our extra bedroom in our house.

He seemed very comfortable here!

On Friday he stayed at home and rested from his long bumpy trip in that envelope.

Then on Saturday morning we woke up early and made eggs, bacon and hash browns. We wanted to have lots of energy for a full day of adventures!

The first place we went was called Historic Bethabara Park in Winston-Salem. Flat Stanley brought lots of information home with him about the Park.

Bethabara Park was where the first settlers came to Winston-Salem all the way from Germany! We saw an old fort and Flat Stanley even pulled the Bell! He also posed for a picture in front of an old log cabin. They had an oven that Stanley thought was really cool, too. He couldn't imagine having to cook bread in that!

The next place we went was to the Reynolda House Museum of American Art. Stanley also brought back lots of information about it. We weren't allowed to take his picture inside the Museum.

Outside the Museum there was a huge garden and a greenhouse!

The greenhouse had so many neat plants that Stanley wanted to take a picture with all of them. He saw a cactus, tulips, and lots of other tropical plants, but the orchids were his favorite!

After a short potty break we were on our way to a late afternoon lunch.

Lunch was delicious! We went to Carrabba's because none of us had ever eaten there before. Stanley had spaghetti with Italian sausage. Afterwards we were stuffed but Stanley wanted to get another picture. He wanted to bring home a mint to share with you, Emma.

After lunch we went to the mall just to walk around. Stanley didn't like shopping very much (He could only peek out of Aunt Erin's purse!) so we went home. We spent the rest of the evening relaxing at home.

On Sunday morning Stanley went to church with us. Afterwards we went to Cracker Barrel to eat. Of course, Stanley wanted to take another picture.

On Monday morning Stanley went back into an envelope to come back

home to Emma's house in Hurricane, WV. I really hope he had a great time visiting Winston-Salem, North Carolina!

Love,

Uncle Jesse

Cute, huh?

Ok.... now I'm caught up sorta.

Today I didn't go to work at Cracker Barrel. I had someone pick up my shift because I was scheduled to go to the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools Substitute Orientation. I had to fill out a bunch of paper work... the usual first day of work stuff, W-4's and some others. I had to make a bunch of copies of my transcript, my teaching license, ID, SS card, etc. We watched a few videos. One was a dramatization of a school shooting that was quite compelling for a video made in NC.

Afterwards I had to go over to a Lab and pee in a cup....I signed in at 12:24pm and the waiting room was filled to the BRIM! I sat there until around 1:15pm and I didn't get to leave until after 1:30pm! Of course when I left the waiting room only had 3 people in it.

Luckily the lab place was right in a big shopping center....so I went to Kohl's and then to Michael's. I really wanted to do more shopping but I had an EXTREME headache. So I drove back home, took 2 Excedrin and took a 2 hour bath (while reading "True Believer" of course) After 15 minutes I felt much better. I feel really good now! :) and I have silky smooth skin...hahaha.... Thanks to Vaseline Intensive Care Bath Salts. That stuff works great!

Jesse and Lester had to drive to Cleveland, TN today. 5 hours one way. They won't be back until around 10pm...so now I'm gonna go upstairs and watch American Idol w/ Holli.

rainy day

Today nothing of any interest happened whatsoever.

I was in the smoking section... it was busy for about an hour. I made 41 dollars. I stopped at the Lewisville Library on my way home from work and picked up 2 of my books that I had put on reserve....they are both Nicholas Sparks books and I can't wait to take a bath and read 'em!

Yesterday night I cooked meatballs, green beans, mashed potatoes, and multi-grain french bread. So... tonight is LEFTOVERS! I just have to make some more green beans.

Tomorrow I'm gonna cook in my slow cooker I think.

I'll tell you one church where I won't be in attendance.......

The barrel was ok today. The day went by really fast. I had a table that was seated at 9:30am... It was a man waiting on some others to join him. He moved to another table...two more people came and ordered. Another lady came and ordered. Another lady came and ordered. At around NOON (yes, noon) Another girl comes and orders. Then a few minutes later two more ladies and one fat little boy comes and orders. They didn't leave till after one in the afternoon.
I found out that the man is the pastor of one of the biggest churches in Winston-Salem, Union Baptist. Well he needs to read my blog about Christians tipping because he left me less than 6 dollars. If I had just been able to turn my tables I could have made 30 more dollars today. He ripped me off.
Evidently they come in there a lot because most of the waitresses knew them and warned me about them. They were amazed that I got more than 3 dollars. They said that he usually tips 3 dollars even when they sit there forever. When everyone was there a little after noon they were taking up three tables.

Here are some photos of the guy

I'll admit.... they were decently nice...but they need to be more considerate of others.

Field Trip...

Today Holli, Lester, Jesse and I went on a "field trip" to some small town in the buttcrack of NC a little ways past Hickory. They had to deliver a policy to a client.

We stopped in Statesville on the way back and ate at Applebee's. Our waitresses name was "Christmas".. unique.

We stopped in Mocksville on the way back home too... to go to Walmart. Jesse and I have only been going to Walmart twice a month now. The Walmart thats near our apartment is always really crowded with VERY long lines. So.... Mocksville is a much better choice but its a 20 minute drive.

I bought a CrockPot and I'm kinda excited to use it.

When we got home I put the groceries away and Jesse and I went upstairs to the Conn's. Jesse and Lester played some golf video game forEVER....and then we played "SingStar" until 10:30pm.

restful day.....

Today Jesse and I slept in.

We made "Wildberry" pancakes.... and just layed around the house for awhile.

I got kinda bored towards the afternoon so I put together (w/ help from Jesse) my old Super Nintendo. I played Super Mario World for a long time. Its the only video game I have ever been good at playing.

Then I got ready and we went to the Hanes Mall w/ the Conn's...and Shane Boggess and his girlfriend, Shanda.

At around 6:45pm we went to "Texas Roadhouse" for dinner.....The line to get into that place was cRaZy! We waited over an hour and 40 minutes... We didn't leave there until almost ten o'clock.

When we got home I played Super Mario World until midnight.

very busy day....

Today at CB was busy. We had more business today then any other day I've worked in Clemmons. I don't know why but a lot of the ladies I work with were being kinda grumpy and hateful today. I'm looking forward to my last day there.

I was even busier when I got home... I had to find something to cook for dinner. I ended up settling on a Mexican-type casserole with green chiles, tomatoes, corn, refried beans, ground beef, onions, and cheese. It was decent. After that I cleaned up the apartment a little. I've done three loads of laundry today. I washed a bunch of dishes and I ran the dishwasher and brewed three quarts of tea...half splenda, half sugar...and some other random stuff too.

I'm sooooooooooo glad tomorrow is Saturday.... I need a weekend. We don't have any plans for tomorrow and I'm kinda glad about it! :)

My parents may come to visit next weekend. I think my mom just wants to drive her new car.

you have to be "choking"..the smoking section AGAIN!

So from the title of this blog post I bet you can tell that I was in the smoking section again today. Yes, you aren't supposed to be in smoking more than once a week..but I didn't complain. I think its best to just keep your mouth shut. Unless you are truly getting dumped on. I don't want them to stick me back there every day just cause I don't complain though!!

Well... even though I did ok in smoking the other day...today was TERRIBLE! I only made 29 dollars from 9:30 to 2. Luckily I had everything done and I was outta there by 2:15! :)

Tonight Jesse and I had french toast for dinner. I had been craving it for awhile.

Then we watched Transformers, Jesse feel asleep.. While we.. I mean, I was watching my mom called and said that she got a new Toyota Carolla. They made a smart choice and went for the inexpense car...rather than the car she wanted which was a Mini Cooper.

After that Jesse and I watched the new Survivor. And if anyone reading this watched it tonight... I HAVE A THEORY!!!!!!! I think Johnny Fairplay really didn't want to do the show and I think the big wigs must have really wanted him to do it. They probably hooked him up with a good deal and promised him to be voted off in the 1st episode. I think the "Favorites" actually had to throw the challenge so that Fairplay could be voted off. I think it was alllllllll a set-up. If you read this and have anything to add.... please comment!

Now I just got on the
Forsyth County Library webpage and reserved some books to check out.... I put a couple Nicholas Sparks books on hold...and I also reserved a couple John Grisham books for Jesse. I love living in a place where the library is up to date!!! WVs libraries are archaic.

hump day

In case you don't know... Wednesday is Hump Day because its the middle of the week. This is especially true for me cause I only work at CB M thru F. Thank God! :)

Today was a pretty good day. I was in the front dining room and I stayed busy all day. Yesterday was good too. I was in the smoking section but still stayed pretty busy and made pretty good money. I waited on a table of 8 CB General and District Managers.

Today I got kinda upset at this girl, Beth... I say "upset" but I didn't say anything or do anything of course. I just thought "What goes around comes around" There was a manager at one of my tables and she told me a lie and said that we were still on the old floor plan just so that she could go wait on him. Does she think I'm an idiot?? I wish she woulda just told me the truth instead of being shifty about it...cause I would have let her wait on him if she wanted....shes a table theif.

Tonight Jesse and I are getting ready to go to Agape Faith Church. They are having a miracle healing service and prayer meeting.

No news from the job search... or the house search. Well take that back... about the house search anyway. We have a new location we are looking at... its called Wallburg, NC.

busy day!

Today I went to work.... again crappy section and it was slow. I'm beginning to think that I need to get another job. I want to start subbing. There is some sort of "orientation meeting" that I have to be invited to and attend. I think the next one is at the end of this month.

Well the day went by pretty quickly... except for portioning the tartar sauce. ick.

When I got home I ran on the treadmill (3.5 miles all together, but I ran over a mile straight! Not bad for a girl who hasn't been on there for awhizle).. then I took a shower and cleaned up the house a bit.

When Jesse came home he brought me some fresh hot sausage from the farmers market. So we had breakfast for dinner... eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, and orange juice. It was so good that I think we may have to have the same exact thing tomorrow! :) or maybe tomorrow I'll make french toast.... hmm...

Well... its time for bed.. I gotta be back at the Barrel at 8:30 am. :::yawn:::

every person who eats out needs to read this!!

Top 11 Complaints About Restaurant Customers - AOL Food

Also, every Christian should click this link....
http://trevinwax.com/2007/11/27/how-much-should-a-christian-tip/ <----this a blog post about how much is a good tip for a Christian. I couldn't agree more!

Nothing is more irritating than seeing a Christian tract on your table with 2 dollars sticking out. As a Christian this embarrasses me!!!

agh... grrr....

I am not liking Cracker Barrel today. I am getting sick of getting crappy sections. Today (for people who speak "barrel talk") I had tables 231, 232, and 233. If you don't speak Barrel then that means I was in the middle dining room with only three tables...two of which are in the middle of the floor. If you've ever been to a restuarant before...you know that people don't like to sit in the middle of a large area. Instead they like to be next to a wall or a window or something. Therefore.. my tables didn't get sat much unless every other table was full.

Also yesterday I was told that I can't wear my work pants... I was already told the first week I was down here that I couldn't wear any of my KHAKI pants (God forbid!... I dont know whats so bad about Khakis at Cracker Barrel #247 but they don't allow them) Now I can't wear my navy blue pants because they have flaps on the pockets.... sheesh.

But... at Clemmons CB I can wear hoop earrings that are bigger than a dime. AND--- They don't care if you wear a belt or not. SO STUPID!

Well... I'm still sitting here in my stinky Cracker Barrel fireplace smelling clothes....so I think I'm gonna go get in the shower. I guess tomorrow I have to go to the mall and buy some new pants!

Jesse faxed my resume to the school in High Point that is hiring an art teacher... they are supposed to call and set up an interview! :) Here is a link to their school info.... Johnson Street Global Studies School.
