crash & burn

So..I'm watching So You Think You Can Dance on Thursday evening (I'm still confused how Will got sent home and not Mark!!!)...and playing on the Internet. Jesse went bike riding with his brother, Mike.

At around 11 pm I started to get a little worried about them. Then Jesse pulls his car into his spot and walks in the front door. He says, "Before you freak out. I had a wreck and I'm really hurt"

So the first thought in my head was that he was in a car wreck and I was looking for broken bones, etc. But he had a bicycle wreck...and he was pretty beat up.

He was going really fast down the hill on Rt. 34 in Hurricane in front of the Reservoir. There weren't any cars coming so he pulled out onto the road to give Mike some more room. The problem came when he tried to pull back onto the curb.

He has a huge scrape on his shoulder...he scraped his palms....he got both his knees...a little on his lower back....a scrape on his right temple....and a gash on his chin. He had to pick a little rock out of his knee! Yuck! I guess he hit his head pretty hard because he was acting weird, too. I was afraid that he might have a slight concussion.

Well... he's doing better now but he still looks pretty bad. I took these photos tonight (Monday)

Today I went to Cracker Barrel from 11 to 4. Well, at least I was scheduled off at 4. I couldn't leave until 3 fat cows got out of my section at 5 pm!
ok ok, they weren't REALLY fat cows, but they were fat, rude women that got seated in my section at a little after 3 pm. They told me right off that the last time they were there they had bad service, had to send their steaks back a bunch of times, and got soda spilled on them. I don't know if I beleive them.... they just wanted everything for free. It was RIDICULOUS!!
They ordered 3 well done Ribeye steaks...with house salads and baked potatoes. When their steaks came out (I made sure they were WELL done) they complained that they were dry! Maybe you should order them Medium if you like juicy meat! People are so stupid. One lady asked for her butter and sour cream ON THE SIDE....and then asked for extra. Whats the point of having it on the side?!?!?! I honestly think she saved the butter and took it home with her.
They just kept asking for biscuits. At one point I had brought out a TON of bread already when one old hag asked for more. I brought her one biscuit on a plate and she said, "Are you out of bread or something back there? Why'd you only bring one?" I was shocked that anyone could eat more (I had just brought out each woman an apple dumplin' for dessert!) and I said, "Do you need more?" and I know I sounded amazed. hahaha.... Then they had the nerve to ask for 4 biscuits in a to go box.
These people left with a shopping bag FULL of food.
I have been waiting tables for almost 5 years and Ive never seen people like that! It was awful. I hope they choke on it. I had to keep telling myself, "What goes around comes around."
As a matter of fact, when they got up..the table beside them even commented about them to me. Oh yeah, they kept me there for an hour over my scheduled shift..and only left me 2 dollars!! Their bill...even though they didn't pay ANY of it...was 55 dollars. Yeah that's a tip of 3.6%. Thanks a lot ladies!
ok ok.... enough about them.
After work Jessica came over and we did a new workout DVD that I got from the library. Its called Kathy Smith Matrix Method. I like it a lot. After she left I ran 4 miles on the treadmill (good stress reliever)...took a shower....and cooked dinner.
Tomorrow I'm training someone at CB.... and I have to work 10 to 4.

Tuesday, Wednesday...now Thursday

Tuesday I worked at the barrel again from 10 to 4. We stayed pretty busy. I think the B'ville CB gets a lot more business than the Clemmons CB. I made 75 dollars. I rarely made that much at Clemmons.

It was weird being at the Barrel again....because now it feels like I was never gone.

After CB Jessica came over and we worked out again. We did the Jillians DVD that I have...hehehe....we did both levels 1 and 2. I think I might have killed her!! hahaha!

Wednesday I had the day off! Jesse and I just kinda hung out, sat around the house, played on the computer, and listened to music. Then we went to Wal-Mart and after that I made dinner...Spicy Orange Chicken Stir-fry with Brown Rice and lotsa veggies!

After dinner Jesse said, "Lets go for a walk." So we drove over to the Valley Park and as we were getting out of our car and walking toward the trails, we hear someone yell out Jesse's name!

It was Sarah, Jay and Caylan over at the playground at the bottom of the hill! I played with Caylan a little and then we went to TCBY to get some yogurt together. I got Cake Batter it was good, but I think I should have got the orange sherbet instead. Oh well....maybe they'll have it next time! Needless to say...we didn't go for our walk. :) but thats ok!!

I watched So You Think You Can Dance last night while I ran on the treadmill. I ran 7.25 miles and then walked another mile after that. I'm a little sore this morning. If I have something good to watch, I could almost run forever!!!

I was happy that my favorite dancers did well last night. I like Joshua and Katee but I'm starting to like Chelsea more and more. If I could pick the top 4 it would be Joshua, Katee, Chelsea, and Will.

Now I am getting ready to go upstairs and get ready for another day of work. yippee! Jessica is coming to work out again tonight... I think we are gonna do a Tae-Bo or a power yoga video today.

CB...not so bad

Well, working today at CB wasn't too bad. I had to repeat myself a thousand times about where we'd been and what we'd been up to. Everyone wanted to know about Jesse, of course. But, other than that...it wasn't too bad.

I stayed pretty busy which made the time go by fairly quickly. It seemed like I was a lot more busy than at Clemmons CB.

It was nice seeing some people that I hadn't seen in a long time.

After work... Jessica came over and we did that workout DVD again. Our next work-out is scheduled for tomorrow!

I wasn't supposed to be working tomorrow, but a managed told me that someone quit and they asked me if I wanted to work tomorrow. So I said yes for some dumb reason...hahaha

hi-ho hi-ho...its off to work I go

its almost 10 am Monday morning and I have to be at Cracker Barrel at 11. (sigh) I'm glad this job is only temporary. I guess when school starts I'm going to be subbing in Putnam Co. and maybe working at CB only a few times a month. I've been thinking about working there every other friday night...that way I don't have to go in there on Saturday mornings.

Well.... gotta go put on that adorable CB uniform. haha...its anything but adorable. My pants are WAY too big and they are covered with grease stains. oh, this is gonna be a fun day.

weekend = no time 4 blog

I had a really fun weekend....or maybe it just seemed really fun because I had a really boring week! :)

Friday wasn't too exciting. I cooked yummy beef stroganoff in the slow cooker..

Saturday we slept in a little...and then I picked some James Patterson books that I reserved online at the library. (YAY!!) Then.... Brian and Jessica came over and the boys played tennis and then we went over to Alyson's dad's house to swim in his pool...which was very fun!

After that Jessica and I came back to my house and did my Self:Sculpt Sexy Legs Fast DVD.

Then I had to hurry and get ready for my Grandma's 70th Birthday party! It was at my parent's house... my aunts and uncles and cousins were there...even one great-aunt and uncle. We had a ton of food and I probably ate half of it! haha...ok, not really but I felt that way. My mom made fruit salad and I think I could probably eat my weight in fruit salad. (In fact there are still leftovers in my fridge right now!)

Sunday we went to church at Maranatha and then to my mom's house for our typically sunday lunch. After that we stopped by Brian & Jessica's for just a sec....They were painting their bedroom.

Then back home to get ready for Cracker Barrel in the morning!

depressing....

I'm depressed at how boring today was.... the only time I left the house was to go to Walmart and to run.

I laid out in the sun again and I finished my book, Sail. It was good. Now I need another one...maybe thats why I'm depressed.

Does any one else think John McCain was a hottie back in the day?

haha... he's a lot better looking than Obama. Thats worth my vote!

la-dee-da

another day of doing nothing! I'm not complaining... I kinda like doing nothing.

I've been talking to Debbie Clark, a manager at Cracker Barrel this whole week, trying to get me ready to work next week. I found out today that I work on Monday, Thursday and Friday. I'm not happy or upset about it. I just hope it doesn't suck too bad! haha....

I laid out on my back deck and got some sun. I read my newest James Patterson novel, Sail. Its good so far! :)

Then I did my favorite leg workout DVD....

umm.... later I watched So You Think You Can Dance....and I was kinda upset with the results. I think Comfort and Mark should have gone home, rather than Kherington and Gev!! As long as its not Katee or Joshua then I'm happy! :)

Now... I'm just chillin' and hoggin' the computer from Jesse...hehehe..

(I better go now.)

la la la...

today was another kinda boringish day.

but I did get my new cell phone cover today and it fits and I like it and I'm happy! Its got a soft feel and its red. I was really happy that it came so fast!

I missed the first half of So You Think You Can Dance because we went over to Alyson's father's house and swam in his pool...and I just forgot! I was upset!

I was glad to see the last hour though. My favorite, Joshua, seemed to do very well.

and that was pretty much my day....told you it was boring

Happy 4th Birthday, Abagail!

This morning I was up and kinda just hanging out when I got a call from my friend, Kaylyn. We had been trying to get together and today we decided to go to Rio for lunch. It was soooo yummy! I had the Nachos Fajitas Jr....a deal at $4.75. It was great! So we enjoyed our time together and I gave her a little gift as a thank you/graduation present. She helped me this past semester while I was out of the state. She entered some of my artwork into Marshall's Student Juried Show (where I won $100)

After our lunch date... I watched Oprah and ran on the treadmill. Still LOVING my shoes!!

Today is my niece's 4th birthday! At around 6 we loaded up in Mike & Alyson's minivan with Emma, Abagail, & Hannah and headed down to Barboursville. First we stopped at Subway and had a little dinner. (Jesse and I split a prime rib sub...OMG, its so good!!) I entertained the girls by taking some pictures.

Then we headed to Billy Bob's. We had a good time playing. They had a new game based on Deal or No Deal and we (adults) had a good time playing that one! :)

Here's the Birthday Girl!!

Here they were singing "Herman the Worm"along with Billy Bob

(By the way....this is Jesse wearing his dad's helmet. Jesse can't have a motorcycle because he'd kill himself)Say hello to Caylan!.......

This is Jesse and Jaiden... he's a hefty lil guy.

After all that fun, we went over to a little playground and played some more!

Momma Got Some New Shoes!!

Yesterday was a great day! I was busy doing stuff all day long. I meant to blog last night and I just never got around to it.

First of all yesterday I got up and did my Self: Sculpt Sexy Legs Fast DVD workout.

Then Jesse and I shipped out my returned Nike running shoes to Zappo's. By the way... http://www.zappos.com/ is a GREAT place to buy shoes. Its free shipping and they let you ship them back for free up to 365 days later as long as they are in the original condition. They are known for outstanding customer service. I also found another good shoe site called http://www.onlineshoes.com/. This site gives you free shipping and free return shipping, too...but they have to be back within 90 days, but you can try them out!! They don't have to be in original condition. They say you can even run in them!! The only catch with them is that you have to exchange the shoe, if you want a refund then they subtract a fee (like 6 or 7 dollars) from your refund.

Ok....anyway. We were gonna go over to Jesse's sister Sarah's house. She and her husband, Jay, work during the day but Jesse's mom stays there with their daughter. I wanted to lay out in my 'kini on their back deck. But...it wasn't very sunny.

So I decided I wanted to go to the Huntington Mall to try on some running shoes. We went in Foot Locker, Lady Foot Locker, Kid's Foot Locker, the Shoe Dept., Champs, and any and every shoe store I could find. Last we went into the Finish Line (ironically).

I saw an Adidas shoe that I liked in there. I asked the sales guy if he had a size 6 and, of course, they start at size 6.5. So I tried that on and it was way too big.

So, I looked at the girls shoes. They had 2 Adidas shoes that I liked in the little girls. They were kinda funky looking, but I asked for a size 5 in one of them. They felt pretty good...and I got up to go look at the other one. The sales guy says, "You won't like that one as much." So I took his word for it and bought the first ones. They were originally marked 85 dollars, but it said they were on sale for 70. When I went to pay (after the guy tried to get me to buy 12 dollar socks and weatherproofing spray) the shoes were only 50 dollars!!!!! I was really happy!

On the way home we stopped at Sarah's house to hang out with Jesse's mom for a bit. We ended up staying for awhile. I had a lot of fun playing with Caylan.

Then we came home and put my new shoes on! I went upstairs to the treadmill and ran a quarter mile with my regular clothes on. I couldn't wait to try them out. So then I got changed into my running clothes and I ran 5 miles without stopping for the first time ever!! I really really really LOVE these shoes!!

At firsst I thought they were kinda wierd looking, but now I really like them!!

After my loooong run, Jeremy came over and hooked up our dryer. YAY! I washed 3 loads of clothes last night. I thought I had even more that than but this washer is pretty big!! The dryer works super fast too! I'm really happy that we have new ones now!!

Of course I watched So You Think You Can Dance last night...and I was so happy because Joshua and Katie were NOT in the bottom 3. I was sad to see Thayne go but I think the Judges made the right decision.

Also my cell phone cover arrived in the mail yesterday. I immediately snapped the back cover on, but I couldn't get the front cover to go on at all. I think it was broke. I don't know..and I really don't care because the silver stars were peeling off of the cover!! It looked terrible! I would have sent it back anyway. So...I think I'm going to exchange it for a rubberized black case, because I HATE those tacky little peeling stars. I could have put stickers on it and it would have looked better than that! It made me mad that it was such a piece of trash. Plus, it took it 10 days to get here from California. I bet it'll be a month before I get the other one!!

Enough ranting.... I guess I should go find something to do.

Big BANG!!

I went for a jog in the morning outside. It was a nice day for running. I wore my old shoes. The laps I've been doing are 7/10ths of a mile. Today I went 5 laps, which equals about 3.5 miles and then I walked one more lap.

Today was the day we got our washer and dryer delivered. At first I was a little upset because they never called to confirm at all and we couldn't get a hold of anyone with answers at Best Buy.

But finally the delivery guys called us and everything was good!

Right before they got here Jesse....in a brilliant moment...decided to try the power cord to make sure it fit. He just barely touched the prongs to the outlet and I heard a BIG BANG!! I saw a BIG FLASH of light (Jesse called it a fire ball) He was in the laundry closet area and I was standing in the kitchen. So I didn't know what he was doing.

I freaked out immediately and asked him if he was ok. He said "Yeah" as he stared down at his arm. He has this red swollen area on his forearm where all the hairs got burnt off. I'm not sure why he didn't go turn off the electric before he did that. He wasn't thinking. This is why I'm glad I have life insurance on the guy.

The Best Buy guys said they couldn't attach the power cord since we didn't buy it from them. And after the electrical burn....Jesse wasn't about to even touch that power cord and I don't blame him. So he called Jeremy and I think he's going to come over tomorrow to hook it up. Sheeesh. Another day without doing laundry.

I decided that I am going to send my new shoes back to Zappo's and get a refund. I'm not happy with them at all. I've decided to stick with Adidas. I've almost always ran in Adidas and I've always been happy with them. They seem to last a long time too.

I just finished watching So You Think You Can Dance!! I really love that show. Tonight I'm nervous that my favorite couple (Joshua and Katie) will be in the bottom 3! They had to do the Viennese Waltz and a Bollywood routine. The Bollywood thing was really good, but I just don't know if people will vote for it. Its like an cultural Indian dance. We'll see tomorrow!

whole lotta nothing

Nothing too interesting has been happening lately. Maybe that's why I haven't been blogging much.

Sunday we went to church at Maranatha...then we went to my parent's house and later hung around with Brian and Jessica....

Monday I spent the whole day trying to get all my stuff together so I can apply for a job with Putnam County Schools. It took forever..and our printer wouldn't work..so we had to go to Jesse's office to print stuff out.

Monday night Jesse and I went on a bike ride with Mike, Hannah, and Abagail... Jesse rode with Hannah...and Mike rode with Abagail. I ran. Earlier that day my running shoes arrived from Zappos. I was really excited to try them out. We ran quite a little bit and my left shoe felt fine, but my right one was killin' me! When I was done running I had a HUGE blister on my right pinky toe. I gotta figure out what the problem is....and fix it.

Today... I finished up the teaching stuff I was working on yesterday. Its so frustrating how many hoops you have to jump through just to be a substitute teacher!!

Later, we drove to Winfield for Lunch at the Asian Wok Lunch Buffet. It was very yummy! Then, since we were in town, we visited with my parents for awhile.

Tomorrow my new washer and dryer are coming! YAY! I need some clean clothes! hahaha

rain wind and fire

I will say that I had a memorable fourth of July!

At first Jesse and I just hung around the house because it was really dreary and rainy outside. My parents visited us for the first time at our new place...but just for a few minutes.

Then Brian called and wanted us to come to their house in Winfield for a little cookout. We had burgers, fries, and chicken.

After we hung out with them for awhile we came over to our house...and then we went over to Teresa's (Jesse's Mom) apartment and met up with pretty much all of Jesse's family. Then we walked over to the Wave Pool Park for the fireworks. They started at 9:45 pm...and the rain started at 9:50 pm. In those first five minutes I had some great feelings of patriotism. Its amazing to me that Americans have been celebrating with fireworks for over 200 years!

Anyway...right after that thought we had to scramble to our feet and hold a thick, fleece blanket over our head. When the fireworks were done we had to walk all the way back through flooded ditches. I was really glad that I wore my white flip-flops. (sarcasm) WE WERE SOAKED!!

After the fireworks and the traffic died down we came back to our house with Brian and Jessica. They spent the night with us. We stayed up late playing a board game that I bought at the Goodwill in Winston, called "Battle of the Sexes." It was pretty fun. I guess it was worth the 3 bucks I paid for it...even though the boys won.

Today was a lazy, hang around the house day. I made whole wheat pancakes for breakfast. They were not very good. I need a better recipe.

After that I went for a jog outside. It was a good run today. My knees didn't hurt. Since my knees have been hurting lately I decided it was time to FINALLY get some new running shoes. I bought them at Zappos.com. They should be delivered here on Monday!! I'm very excited. Here's a link to them. I liked the ones with the green swoosh on the side, but they didn't have them in my size. So I got the pink ones.

After the run I painted one of the canvases I bought for Jesse. I really hated the way it turned out. Blah..I gotta think of somehow else to do it so it will work.

For dinner tonight I made a whole wheat crust pizza (As you can probably tell I am experimenting with the whole wheat flour I bought for the first time the other day) The dough turned out pretty good. This was the first time I've ever attempted to make my own pizza dough at all. It was actually very easy...at least with this recipe. Next...whole wheat banana bread! YUM!!

pretty much done

Well, I think I'm now pretty much done with unpacking. Now I just need to organize my closets. I worked on my closet today. I wanted to do Jesse's closet too, but I didn't make it that far.

We borrowed my dad's old pickup truck and drove to South Charleston. We picked up a desk that Jesse bought for his new office.

Later we drove to A.C. Moore to buy some canvases. I'm going to paint them for Jesse's office. I'm really excited to have an art project!!

Tomorrow is the 4th of July....and I think its going to rain. We may have a cook-out during the day, but its supposed to rain later on I think. We'll see. I'm kinda bummed about the cookout thing...cause I don't feel like I should be eating fatty hamburgers and definately NOT hotdogs (even though I'd love me a Hebrew National hotdog!! yummmm!) Maybe I'll JUST eat one hotdog and nothing else. Or.... maybe I'll grill me a chicken breast. Thats what I should do.

well...this computer's battery is about to die. So I guess that means I should sign out.

AAAAAHHH!

This has been the craziest few days!!! I haven't had time to blog at all. I still have a lot of stuff to do, but I need a short break.

The last time I posted was Wednesday and we were in the Outer Banks.

On Thursday we went over to the pool and enjoyed the sunshine. I was just getting hot and wanting to get in the pool when I found out that they were closing the pool for 3 hours! Evidently someone puked in the deep end and they had to skim it out, add chemicals, and let all the water cycle through the filters before letting anyone get back in.

So we just stayed and laid out. I got in the baby pool to cool off.

Jesse and I left the OBX at around 2 pm. He drove the whole way back and I finished off my James Patterson book, "The Beach House." Wow, that one is my favorite so far. I read it in less than 24 hours.

On Thursday night Mike and Alyson came to Winston and stayed with us. We went to dinner at Qdoba's. I had 3 chicken tacos that were very good!

On Friday the boys loaded up the truck and I cleaned...booo. It sucked. I did a good job so we better not be charged for anything on our deposit.

When we started to drive back a HUGE MONSTER storm blew in and we had to drive in it. I just got out of my car for 3 seconds to turn in our apartment keys and I was soaked. Jesse had to take out some trash and he was DRENCHED!

It was a scary drive. It was storming like crazy in Winston and then it rained from Princeton to home. Kitsy and I made it though!

Friday night we spent the night at my parents with the truck parked outside. Then on Saturday morning we unloaded the truck in our new place!! Jesse's mom and John, her husband, Brian, and Jeremy helped us. I started unpacking...and I'm still working on it.

On Sunday I was excited because we finally got our washer and dryer hooked up and I really needed to do laundry. So I started to wash a load and I walked upstairs to get more clothes. I took a little longer than normal because I got distracted by something...and when I walked down the stairs I heard the water still running. I thought, "That's odd." So I went to the kitchen where our laundry closet is and there was about 3 inches of water all over the floor!! I screamed for Jesse and turned the water off.

We started towelling it all up and I drove over to Mike's house to get his wet-vac. Then we got it all sucked up.

We decided to give Jesse's mom our old set of washer and dryer and see if her husband, John, who is a plumber, can fix it.....and we went to Best Buy and bought a new set.m Unfortunately it won't be delivered until next Wednesday.

I took my laundry over to my Mom's house...and during my 4th load the electricity went out. After that, the dryer wouldn't come back on!! Somehow I managed to break a washer and a dryer in the same day!!

Today I got up and ran around a nearby neighborhood. Since then I've been working on the house....and playing with my new cell phone. Jesse and I got new silver LG Shines. I've been shopping for a case for it! :) I really like my new phone. My old one was over 2.5 years old and almost embarrassing...hahaha!

ok... I guess I need to get back to work now.
