still subbing...

Today I'm at Hurricane High School. I typically don't like coming here. Its a big school and they never get enough subs, so they "farm" you out during prep period to go cover for another teacher. I'm on prep now though and I guess they are going to leave me alone. I'm kinda shocked.

This morning I'm subbing for a Math teacher...and I think its a Language Arts teacher this afternoon. My first block class I subbed for was an AP Statistics class. They were extremely well behaved. I mean, the room was silent up until about 2 minutes before the bell rang.

This morning, before class, another teacher came in the room. She was slightly plump (I'm being nice here) and was gnawing on, what else, but a slice of bacon. I'm not kidding. It was kinda strange. She asked me if I was working tomorrow..and I hadn't got a job yet, so I said no. She teaches Chemistry and said it would be an easy day and that she had good kids. So, of course, I told her that I would be glad to sub for her.

Later, at lunch, I went over to her room to ask her something and she was eating Lay's Potato Chips and some sort of biscuit from Tutor's.

So, tomorrow... I'll be back here. Being a Friday I probably will get "farmed" out. However, she said she only teaches 2 classes tomorrow, so I may get lucky!! Apparently, she teaches an AP class in the morning beginning at 7:15. She said that they won't be here tomorrow so I wouldn't have to come early. Then, she just has 2 blocks. Her day is over at 2 something. We'll see how that turns out!

Well...... now, about American Idol last night. I'm pretty amazed because I haven't been able to call the winners THIS well before. I'm always pretty good at it...but this year I've been great! A Looooooong time ago on Facebook, I picked my top 5. I selected Danny, Adam, Allison, Matt, and Kris and whattaya know? They WERE the top 5! If I would have picked a top 4...it would have been Matt that I left off.

I don't know about the Top 3. My guess is that it will really depend on how well they sing next week. I'm guessing that it will be either Kris or Allison, although, I love both of them....but it all depends on how well they perform.

Tonight... I am going to the Funny Bone with Whitney, Kelli and Jessica. I'm excited! I've never been before, but Kelli won free tickets and asked us to go...so, I'm excited to hang out with them. I haven't seen Whitney or Kelli in forever!! :)

I'm not sure about the guy that will be performing. I think his name is T.B. or T.D. or something like that. Hopefully its not TOO nasty. haha. Oh, ok...I just looked it up and his name is B.T. (I was close, hahaha!)

I'll be sure and write about it later.

Shame on You, Jessica

hahaha... (Jessica I am sticking my tongue out at you!!)

So I've been trying to workout with Jessica for about a month now. She says she wants to...umm hmmm. Today was supposed to be the day "for sure" she said. haha... She called me at 4:30 to tell me that she (conveniently) forgot her workout clothes (she stops by my house on her way home from work)

I'm just giving her a hard time. I know she really did forget her clothes. At least, I think so. :)

We have a new president now. I feel blessed to live in a country that would elect a minority as their leader. I was suprised how moved I was while watching the inauguration. Don't get me wrong, I didn't shed any tears. But it was a huge moment for our country!

Were Sasha and Malia not the most adorable things ever???? I want that pink coat/orange scarf ensemble. haha. TOO CUTE!

ok..its time for bed... I'm just praying that my alarms work.

wonderful WEEEEEEEEEEKEND!

It was a very long weekend. We had MLK Jr. Day off, of course...and Friday was a snow day.

Friday night I went shopping at the Town Center with my Mom. I found 2 pairs of boots (which are very hard to find in a size 5 1/2!) and Mom bought them for me.

We had dinner at Bob Evan's. I had a Wildfire Chicken Salad. YUM! Even though my waitress never brought my dressing!

On Saturday, Jesse and I went down to the Bob Evan's at the Barboursville Mall and met Cassie there for breakfast. I had those delicious Multigrain pancakes again. They are MY FAV!! We had a good time talking to Cassie. On the way home we stopped at Walmart and did the grocery shopping.

After that... I didn't do much of anything and was pretty much bored all day.

Sunday...it was snowy. We decided not to brave the weather and watched church on the internet instead. Then the weather cleared and we went to Mom and Dad's for dinner.

Later Sunday night we went to Mike and Alyson's house to watch the Steelers game....and to see the new baby. Shes cute! :) and shes got a lot of hair. I played with Emma. She had some fashion designing thingie and she was so excited to have me draw some clothes. She said that we needed to start a business, "Crouch Designs." hahaha.

Monday... it was snowy again. It would have been a snow day if we had had school scheduled for the day. I woke up and actually ran on the treadmill while I watched Rachel Ray! (only about 4 miles) Lately my knee has been hurting when I run. :(

After that... I got ready and made a quick trip to Walmart. I needed laundry detergent. Then, I cooked a TON. I made soup to take for my lunch this week. I cooked the taco meat for dinner on Tuesday night AND I cooked dinner last night, which was chicken w/ garlicy pasta.

But, tonight... Jessica is coming over to workout with me. I wanted dinner to be easy..so all I have to do is throw together the salads for taco salad.

This morning.... I woke up when Kitsy was scratching at the door to the bathroom. I looked around....something felt strange!... I looked at the clock.. IT WAS 7:30! I usually leave the house at 7:15. OMG!!

So I called the school, and told them I was going to be late.... I managed to leave the house right around 8 am. I didn't make it to school until around 8:25. No big deal though. Mrs. Paugh (the librarian) came in to watch my homeroom until I got there.

I still don't know what happened to my cell phone. I set the alarm to repeat every M-F at 6 am. Sometimes I'll turn it off on accident but on those days I usually wake up with it in the bed or under the pillow or something. Today it was laying on the dresser, just where I left it. The alarm said it was on. It wasn't on Silent or vibrate.

I always set another alarm, too...just in case. I checked it last night to make sure it was on. It didn't go off either!!! Its a mess. I'm going to be afraid to go to sleep tonight!

I think I'm going to bake some snickerdoodles tonight. I made some on Saturday but they burned on the bottom. The ones that didn't burn were good.

ahh, planning period

Here I am...on my planning period. :) So this won't be long. I have a couple minutes to spare. I just posted my student's grades to edline and sent them in for their Midterms. Most of them did well.

I actually wasn't that cold yesterday. I was thrilled! I dressed warmer so I guess that helped. Our usual custodian cut her hand and has been absent for the past few days. She always turns my heater on in the mornings...but since she wasn't here yesterday it wasn't on! :( I miss her!

I think I'm going to give her a thank you card when she comes back!!

Its a lot warmer today because I left the heater on all night. Yay, Tuesday!

After I blogged on sunday I searched the internet for something that would charge my camera. I ended up buying a Kodak battery charger for 28 bucks.

My mom sent birthday cake home with us on sunday.... I think it was 6 pieces (of a round yellow layer cake with chocolate icing and mini M&Ms on top!) and OMG it is the best cake ever.... Or, I should say that it WAS the best cake ever. I finished it off last night. I can't believe that I ate that much. (Jesse only ate a little bit) Oh well, birthdays are only once a year....and I usually don't eat birthday cake...but this stuff was to die for.

Today I am cooking chicken breasts in my slow cooker...and I'm going to boil some noodles later tonight to make "Chicken & Noodles." Holli made some for us when we lived in Winston and it was really good...so I thought I'd give it a shot.

Jessica is coming over tonight to work out with me!! YAY!

Jesse started his new job yesterday... he's working at a place called "Beneficial Finance" in South Charleston (on Corridor G). So far, so good! :) I'm so glad that he is done selling insurance now.

wahooo!! I got the job!

OK...so I found out today that they won't be posting this long-term sub job up for bid...there was some reason but I don't know why....but anyway!! They asked me to stay! So... I'm on as of right now for the rest of this month...after that, its not set in stone. But...basically I was told that as long as their teacher is out... I'll be there!!!

Yay! I'm so happy!

Yesterday was election day. I'm so glad its over! I had a good day off. I cleaned up the house a bit. I cleaned out my car...and it was a long time coming. I even vacuumed it out. Its like a whole new car. When I got in it yesterday, for a second, I thought I was getting into the wrong car!

Yesterday evening I went down to the Barboursville Mall w/ Jessica. Kelli was supposed to come too, but she backed out at the last minute. (poo on her) I went to Michael's and AC Moore before I met Jessica. Then we went to Linens N Things...they are going out of business and everything is on sale. Although they need to drop their prices a lot more to get me to buy anything in there!! After that...we went over to the mall.

After a dinner of a Spicy Chicken Crunchwrap Supreme, I looked w/ envy at the purses in Macy's. Then we went to Aerie, Old Navy, NY & C, American Eagle, Aero, and the new Doggie Store (so cute!) I bought Kitsy a toy in there...and she likes it. Not as much as her twisty-ties, but she still likes it.

I bought Jesse 4 polo shirts from Old Navy and I got a Liz Claiborne teal leather tote bag that was on clearance at Macy's. Here are some pics of it...but these are green and gold. Mine is teal. I'd like to have the gold one too!! :)

After school today I ran outside. Its been so nice lately... I have to take advantage of the weather while its around. While I was running I ran into my great-aunt, Linda! She was walking and we talked for a little while. Ironic.

well...time for bed. I'm beat and I have a headache. Blah.

wahooO!

Its another morning before going to the barrel....and today I'm actually really excited to go!

Yesterday I worked with Cassie Hite for the first time in forever!! I had such a good day because we talked all day and it made the time go by really fast.

And... I'm excited about today because she works with me again!! YAY!

We are thinking about going to a Zumba trainer workshop to be able to teach Zumba. I think it would be so much fun!

After work yesterday I ran 4 miles...then Jessica came over and we did a 20 minute Jillian DVD.... then we all went to Walmart together. Jesse and I got the Tuesday special from Subway...and then we came back home and Jessica went home too.

After that I played on the Internet for a few hours. (I know, I feel like a bum)

Well...now I gotta go get ready for CB!

have I given up on the blog?

Jesse looked at me tonight and said..."I guess you've given up on the blog?" and I said "No, there's just not a lot going on right now"

So I haven't been writing a lot lately..... but really I've just been going to Cracker Barrel, coming home, exercising with Jessica, running, making dinner, and then going to bed.

Last night, though, Jesse and I went to his sister Sarah's house. His grandfather had a heart attack this weekend so a lot of his family was in...some from out of state. So they all got together last night at Sarah's. We hung out for awhile on Sarah and Jay's back deck.

After that I came home and watched So You Think You Can Dance. I was very happy with Joshua's performances! and then tonight on the results show...he made it on to the FINALE next week!

Tomorrow I have to work from 9 to 3 and I'm kinda depressed that I have to wake up that early! Someone asked me if I could come in earlier..at 7 am! I said, "Don't think I can do that" 7 am is WAY too early, that would mean I'd have to leave here at 6:30!

I guess I better go to bed now.

crash & burn

So..I'm watching So You Think You Can Dance on Thursday evening (I'm still confused how Will got sent home and not Mark!!!)...and playing on the Internet. Jesse went bike riding with his brother, Mike.

At around 11 pm I started to get a little worried about them. Then Jesse pulls his car into his spot and walks in the front door. He says, "Before you freak out. I had a wreck and I'm really hurt"

So the first thought in my head was that he was in a car wreck and I was looking for broken bones, etc. But he had a bicycle wreck...and he was pretty beat up.

He was going really fast down the hill on Rt. 34 in Hurricane in front of the Reservoir. There weren't any cars coming so he pulled out onto the road to give Mike some more room. The problem came when he tried to pull back onto the curb.

He has a huge scrape on his shoulder...he scraped his palms....he got both his knees...a little on his lower back....a scrape on his right temple....and a gash on his chin. He had to pick a little rock out of his knee! Yuck! I guess he hit his head pretty hard because he was acting weird, too. I was afraid that he might have a slight concussion.

Well... he's doing better now but he still looks pretty bad. I took these photos tonight (Monday)

Today I went to Cracker Barrel from 11 to 4. Well, at least I was scheduled off at 4. I couldn't leave until 3 fat cows got out of my section at 5 pm!
ok ok, they weren't REALLY fat cows, but they were fat, rude women that got seated in my section at a little after 3 pm. They told me right off that the last time they were there they had bad service, had to send their steaks back a bunch of times, and got soda spilled on them. I don't know if I beleive them.... they just wanted everything for free. It was RIDICULOUS!!
They ordered 3 well done Ribeye steaks...with house salads and baked potatoes. When their steaks came out (I made sure they were WELL done) they complained that they were dry! Maybe you should order them Medium if you like juicy meat! People are so stupid. One lady asked for her butter and sour cream ON THE SIDE....and then asked for extra. Whats the point of having it on the side?!?!?! I honestly think she saved the butter and took it home with her.
They just kept asking for biscuits. At one point I had brought out a TON of bread already when one old hag asked for more. I brought her one biscuit on a plate and she said, "Are you out of bread or something back there? Why'd you only bring one?" I was shocked that anyone could eat more (I had just brought out each woman an apple dumplin' for dessert!) and I said, "Do you need more?" and I know I sounded amazed. hahaha.... Then they had the nerve to ask for 4 biscuits in a to go box.
These people left with a shopping bag FULL of food.
I have been waiting tables for almost 5 years and Ive never seen people like that! It was awful. I hope they choke on it. I had to keep telling myself, "What goes around comes around."
As a matter of fact, when they got up..the table beside them even commented about them to me. Oh yeah, they kept me there for an hour over my scheduled shift..and only left me 2 dollars!! Their bill...even though they didn't pay ANY of it...was 55 dollars. Yeah that's a tip of 3.6%. Thanks a lot ladies!
ok ok.... enough about them.
After work Jessica came over and we did a new workout DVD that I got from the library. Its called Kathy Smith Matrix Method. I like it a lot. After she left I ran 4 miles on the treadmill (good stress reliever)...took a shower....and cooked dinner.
Tomorrow I'm training someone at CB.... and I have to work 10 to 4.

Tuesday, Wednesday...now Thursday

Tuesday I worked at the barrel again from 10 to 4. We stayed pretty busy. I think the B'ville CB gets a lot more business than the Clemmons CB. I made 75 dollars. I rarely made that much at Clemmons.

It was weird being at the Barrel again....because now it feels like I was never gone.

After CB Jessica came over and we worked out again. We did the Jillians DVD that I have...hehehe....we did both levels 1 and 2. I think I might have killed her!! hahaha!

Wednesday I had the day off! Jesse and I just kinda hung out, sat around the house, played on the computer, and listened to music. Then we went to Wal-Mart and after that I made dinner...Spicy Orange Chicken Stir-fry with Brown Rice and lotsa veggies!

After dinner Jesse said, "Lets go for a walk." So we drove over to the Valley Park and as we were getting out of our car and walking toward the trails, we hear someone yell out Jesse's name!

It was Sarah, Jay and Caylan over at the playground at the bottom of the hill! I played with Caylan a little and then we went to TCBY to get some yogurt together. I got Cake Batter it was good, but I think I should have got the orange sherbet instead. Oh well....maybe they'll have it next time! Needless to say...we didn't go for our walk. :) but thats ok!!

I watched So You Think You Can Dance last night while I ran on the treadmill. I ran 7.25 miles and then walked another mile after that. I'm a little sore this morning. If I have something good to watch, I could almost run forever!!!

I was happy that my favorite dancers did well last night. I like Joshua and Katee but I'm starting to like Chelsea more and more. If I could pick the top 4 it would be Joshua, Katee, Chelsea, and Will.

Now I am getting ready to go upstairs and get ready for another day of work. yippee! Jessica is coming to work out again tonight... I think we are gonna do a Tae-Bo or a power yoga video today.

CB...not so bad

Well, working today at CB wasn't too bad. I had to repeat myself a thousand times about where we'd been and what we'd been up to. Everyone wanted to know about Jesse, of course. But, other than that...it wasn't too bad.

I stayed pretty busy which made the time go by fairly quickly. It seemed like I was a lot more busy than at Clemmons CB.

It was nice seeing some people that I hadn't seen in a long time.

After work... Jessica came over and we did that workout DVD again. Our next work-out is scheduled for tomorrow!

I wasn't supposed to be working tomorrow, but a managed told me that someone quit and they asked me if I wanted to work tomorrow. So I said yes for some dumb reason...hahaha

ok... another blog 4 Jessica

I'm thinking that you need to blog too Jessica... this is a little one sided.

Ok... I had this great idea about 5 minutes ago when I saw that you put your picture on my Guestbook (Thanks for that by the way!) ok... anyway heres my sneaky plan. Next time that you work at CB let me know and I will go to their website and tell them what a great server you were!! :) And you can return the favor! hahaha... PASS ME A GOLD CARD!! Yippeee! What do you think? Leave me a comment at the bottom of this posting or send me an email to DanceERB@aol.com

ok Jessica... this is for you! :)

ok Jessica... this is for you! :)

I haven't blogged in forever and a day.....but here it goes

So I used to come home from work and I would get online and blog almost immediately. But lately I've been trying to get on the treadmill or do a yoga video from the library when I get home. If I don't blog immediately it just never seems to happen.

I'm gonna try to do better cause I like blogging...its like a diary, but better!!

I have some cute photos of Kitsy I want to share...

The other day we did some baking and Kitsy really enjoyed it...hehehe We made biscuits for breakfast last Wednesday morning.

but I think eating those biscuits made Kitsy a little self-conscious because later I found her here.....

So.......I had my friend Kaylyn enter some of my artwork into Marshall's Undergraduate Juried Art Show. I entered a weaving piece and a watercolor painting.
I found out on Saturday that I won something!..and then Kaylyn called me on Sunday to tell me that I won first place for the blanket that I wove in Weaving class!! YIPPIE! I won 100 dollars!
Ok... I've got stuff to do now. I'm gonna try to blog tomorrow!
