Reading Tom Sawyer...

My students are reading...(well they are listening to a Read Aloud CD and following along)...of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. I really love Mark Twain.

I had a good weekend. Its just sad thats its over already. On Saturday morning I got my hair done at Bev's in Eleanor.

After that.... I went shopping with my Mom at the Barboursville Mall even though it was pretty snowy. First we went to Bob Evan's. I had their multigrain pancakes and they were DE-LISH-ISH!!

We were in Kohls for like 4 hours, I swear! I ended up getting my dad a christmas present and I think I know what I'm gonna get for my Mom now too.

We had to go to Walmart too and we didn't get home until around 9.

Sunday we had church and then we went to my Mom's church's Christmas dinner at the Eleanor Firehouse.

I cleaned my classroom this morning. ick. The windows had about 5 years of junk on 'em.

I'm excited for dinner tonight. I'm making "deer balls" My Mom gave me some of my dad's venison and I'm making meatballs and mac-n-cheese tonight! YUM!

gotta go now... this class is over!! Actually....Monday is over!! wahoo!

at school...

I'm at school right now.... at work I should say. My students are watching a video about Mark Twain. There are only 6 kids in this class, but sometimes it feels like 25. :) They've been pretty good since I gave them all violations 10 minutes ago. hahaha. I'm going to have to do that more often.

I'm so glad that its ALMOST the weekend! YAY! Tomorrow my mom and I made plans to go to the Charleston Town Center! I'm excited. Although I really need to go grocery shopping and clean my house too!

I'm almost 27!! Next sunday is my birthday....I just found out that I share a birthday with Mark Twain!

Well I better go!

i'm lovin' life right now!!

Things are going really well with my sub job...and everything else. I'm just feeling so good. I'm back home in WV... I'm here with my family... physically, I feel better than I ever have.... I have the best husband ever....I have the best cat ever....I like where I'm working... I love my students...and I'm actually making a little money.....and life is just good all around!

This weekend was good. On friday Jesse and I hung out after work.... I made Balsamic Salmon, fresh green beans, and roasted red pototoes for dinner. We got some ice cream from McDonalds. Then we watched some netflix movie that was crappy.

On Saturday we stayed around the house at first...and worked out and I did laundry and a little house work (not enough, ha!) Then Jesse went to Ty's house and I went to the mall. I had to return one of those polo shirts that I bought for Jesse last week with Jessica. The only thing I bought was a pair of new black dress pants for Jesse...since he's gonna be starting his new job next week and they have to dress up...he's gotta do a tie, everyday. :(

Jesse and I have been scouring the internet, looking at tons of house plans. We are dreaming about maybe someday building a house in a new development that we love. His friend owns the land and is a contractor. So.... I'm going to post the one we've been looking at most seriously.

Here are a couple that I love...but are probably a little too big for our budget.

wahooo!! I got the job!

OK...so I found out today that they won't be posting this long-term sub job up for bid...there was some reason but I don't know why....but anyway!! They asked me to stay! So... I'm on as of right now for the rest of this month...after that, its not set in stone. But...basically I was told that as long as their teacher is out... I'll be there!!!

Yay! I'm so happy!

Yesterday was election day. I'm so glad its over! I had a good day off. I cleaned up the house a bit. I cleaned out my car...and it was a long time coming. I even vacuumed it out. Its like a whole new car. When I got in it yesterday, for a second, I thought I was getting into the wrong car!

Yesterday evening I went down to the Barboursville Mall w/ Jessica. Kelli was supposed to come too, but she backed out at the last minute. (poo on her) I went to Michael's and AC Moore before I met Jessica. Then we went to Linens N Things...they are going out of business and everything is on sale. Although they need to drop their prices a lot more to get me to buy anything in there!! After that...we went over to the mall.

After a dinner of a Spicy Chicken Crunchwrap Supreme, I looked w/ envy at the purses in Macy's. Then we went to Aerie, Old Navy, NY & C, American Eagle, Aero, and the new Doggie Store (so cute!) I bought Kitsy a toy in there...and she likes it. Not as much as her twisty-ties, but she still likes it.

I bought Jesse 4 polo shirts from Old Navy and I got a Liz Claiborne teal leather tote bag that was on clearance at Macy's. Here are some pics of it...but these are green and gold. Mine is teal. I'd like to have the gold one too!! :)

After school today I ran outside. Its been so nice lately... I have to take advantage of the weather while its around. While I was running I ran into my great-aunt, Linda! She was walking and we talked for a little while. Ironic.

well...time for bed. I'm beat and I have a headache. Blah.

I love the smell of books...

I realized that love the smell of books today. Even the old and musty ones. Books make me happy and the smell of them brings back nice memories. Does anyone else feel that way?

I realized this a little while ago when I was laying in a warm bath reading The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks. I finished The Rescue this morning. Yes, I cried a little.

Today we woke up...I made french toast...we went to Target...and the Dollar Tree. Then we went back to that garden and green house (The Reynolda House Gardens) that we went to a few months ago with my parents and Flat Stanley. Holli wanted to take pictures of flowers. It was a really nice day for it. That place was crawling with Grandma's.

When we got home Jesse and I watched a movie called The Brave One. It has Jodi Foster and Terrence Howard in it. I really like him...and I think he's attractive. It was a good movie. Neither of us had even heard of the movie before.

After that I worked out, doing weights until my legs, abs, and arms were jello. After that is when I took a bath and read that book.

It was a pretty relaxing day....I hope tomorrow is the same.

Saturday..what a day

Its been a boring day around here. Its rainy here in Winston. Even my cat is lethargic...ok, lethargicER than normal.

I woke up and got a little house work done. Then I made some french toast for breakfast. :) Now I have been playing on the Internet for awhile and I'm kinda bored. Jesse is upstairs with Holli and Lester.

Yesterday I went to Kohl's and Target and I tried on about 20 bathing suits. I wasn't crazy about any of them but there were a few that I liked. I didn't use my 10 dollars Kohl's coupon yet....but its good until May 1st.

I ran in Michael's but they didn't have any of those little peg board things I wanted. Oh well.... Since I didn't buy anything in there I didn't see any reason to pull out my paint & crafty stuff...so just X that offa my "to do list"

I did watch that movie yesterday. I did go to Wal-mart. I haven't gone to the library just yet...but I wasn't near there yesterday. I may go later if I'm still bored. I'd like to go to the Goodwill just to look around.

I wanted to go to the mall with Jesse tonight and maybe look for some more bathing suits...but I can't cause the stupid basketball games are on! BLAH!

Tonight I am making my own version of "Chile Jack Chicken" for dinner. Cracker Barrel just started it in a new promotion for the Spring. Its their grilled chicken tenderloins topped w/ grilled onions and green chiles. Then its topped with Monterrey Jack cheese and served with salsa on the side! I'm marinating some chicken now so that Jesse can grill it up later tonight! :) I think we are gonna have a salad with it.

Well... my head is lookin' pretty hideous right now.. so I think I'm gonna go try to make myself look respectable :)

another day another 50 dollars

.............................

Today at the CB was soooooo slow at first. I was in the smoking section with Beth. I got there at 9 and at 12:30 pm I had waited on about 8 people. It was terrible! I was so bored I was about ready to pluck my eyelashes out.

But... at around 12:30 the manager cut the floor and I was in the back by myself. After that it picked up a little bit. I seemed to make really good tips I just had very few tables. I only sold 212 dollars worth of food, but I made 48 dollars. For the math-impaired, thats over 22 percent. :oP

I was at work until after 3 o'clock even though I was cut at 2...I felt like I was NEVER gonna get outta there!

Then, I came home and ate lunch...took a shower...got dressed and pretty...and Jesse and I went shopping. I had hopes of finding an adorable Easter outfit at Kohl's. My hopes were dashed...as usual. But... I did get a little brown sweater that was on clearance for $7.80. I also had a 10 dollar off a 10 dollar purchase coupon. So I had to find something small to buy to make my purchase 10 dollars.

I found a clearance rack of shower gels, lotions, bath salts and stuff like that. So I bought some vanilla body butter and shower gel for 4 bucks... making my total price $1.28. Can't beat that, huh?

After Kohl's we went to Ross but I didn't find anything there either. They had a lot of nice suits..but nothing that would work for me.

Then Jesse and I had a lovely dinner from Burger King that we ate at our kitchen table.

I found out today that my weaving piece that won in Marshall's Student Juried Show has been transported to the WV Cultural Center and will be in a show there until around the end of March! So...anybody back home reading this needs to take a short trip to the Cultural Center that is in the WV Capital complex and see MY BLANKET!! On this
webpage, the WV Cultural Center says, "There also will be a display of award winners from the annual Marshall University Juried Student Art Show in the Great Hall."

Here is a link to an article about the show that was in the
Herald-Dispatch.
