oh,...that was easy

So...I finally got the sidebar to pop back into place. I went to Blogger's help forum (I'm ashamed to admit that I had to ask for help! haha) But... I found out that the reason the sidebar went to the bottom of the blog is because I put pictures on the blog that were too big! So I resized my pics and magically the sidebar popped back up! YAY!

OK...enough about that.

This morning I went to the Valley Park with Cassie and walked around the trails. It was a long walk....over an hour! :) I've been walking walking walking lately! Now, I'm going to head over to Winfield with Jesse to see if I can get into WHS to see my classroom. I kinda doubt it because I called over there and no one answered...but I'm going to try anyway.

no bloggy long time

Last Thursday Cassie and I had a good time shopping all day in South Ridge.... We went to The Parent Teacher Store in Cross Lanes first. While we were there we saw some of their really neat beaded ID badge lanyards. They are expensive though...so I thought that it could be cheaper if we would just make our own.

Then we went to HomeGoods. Cassie had never been there before and of course, she loved it. We spent a lotta time in there. She ended up getting a really nice set of prints for her living room wall.

Then we went to eat lunch at O'Charley's. It was delicious! I ate 3.5 rolls and a whole southwestern style grilled chicken salad. yummmmmm! I think it was around 4:30 when we ate.

Then we went to Michael's. We looked at a bunch of stuff....but spent FOR-EV-ER looking at beads. They have about 3 isles of nothing but beading stuff. It was a lot of fun. It was almost 8 o'clock when we left there!!

I found some nice green beads and some little silver stars. Its a Winfield Generals lanyard!! This is what it ended up looking like at first.

A few days later I went to Michael's and bought some better beading thread. I cut this one up and restrung it. I like it a lot better now. I also made 2 more lanyards, one is black and white and the other is black, white and red. I haven't photoed them yet...but I will.

Jesse has a job interview tomorrow.... for a personal banker job in Lavalette. He's going to drop me off at Michael's and I'm going to buy some more beads!!

Yesterday, Jesse and I went to see Transformers II at Marquee in South Charleston. It was a decent movie. I liked the first one a lot better. Shia Labeouf was amazing! He's a great actor, even for an action movie like Transformers. I think he'll be an incredible actor in the future. The movie had so much action that it gave Jesse and me both a headache! I'm surprised that I didn't get a stomachache too...because I ate a whole box of Hot Tamales!! :) Boy, they were yummy too!!

I <3 Summer!

Today I'm just hanging out. I don't have any real plans. I can do whatever I want....or NOT do anything at all. This is why I <3 Summer!

Yesterday Cassie came to our house for a visit. We went to the Valley Park and ran/walked around the trails. Then we went back to my house and we did half of a Jillian Michaels DVD. After that we went to Winfield to Brian and Jessica's house. AND....we laid out in the sunshine and jumped in the pool when we got hot. It was REALLY hot yesterday!!

Cassie left a little after that...and I cooked PIZZA for dinner. It was good as usual, but I forgot to toss some wheat germ or corn meal down on the pan and the crust stuck to the bottom a little. Then we went to Kroger because they had chicken and cheese on sale...so we stocked up. We also bought 6 Pepsi 2-liters cause they have a sale on those too. They ended up being 84 cents each.

I'm not sure why but I stayed up late last night. I was looking at teaching materials for next year. I think I finially went to bed around 1:40 am.

This morning I woke up when a lady from Marshall Grad. College called me at 9 am. After that I couldn't really sleep, but Kitsy came in the bed and cuddled with me...so I stayed for a little while. When she got up, I made breakfast. We had turkey sausage and vanilla protein whole wheat pancakes...and I swear, they are delicious!!

Now I'm going to go find some way to spend my day!

watching UFC....

I'm sitting over at Ty's house right now, watching the UFC live on Spike. Jesse had be bring the laptop because he was afraid I'd be bored over here. I'm glad he did because these fights have all been mad boring so far.

Ty has a really cute miniature collie named Reese and I love her. We are playing with a squeaky toy squirrel right now.

Today I've been bored and lazy. I just couldn't seem to get motivated to do anything. I was supposed to go hang out with Cassie, but I called her last night and she never called me back. She finally did call around 12:30 today.... perhaps we'll get together next weekend.

Tomorrow Jesse and I aren't going to Maranatha. Instead we're going to some church in Teays Valley. Some chick Jesse went to school with..her husband is preaching and he and Ty want to go for some reason. I'm not so sure. But... we'll see.

I'm ticked that I'm going to be missing Pastor Wright preach on "Thou shall not commit adultery" in his 10 commandments series. Oh well. I think I'm doing ok on that subject. hahaha.

I finally dug out!

Today the weather cleared and I finally was able to get out. Cassie sent me a message on facebook and asked if I had any plans on Saturday. Of course, I didn't.
So we went to Charleston with her. One of her cheerleader buddies had a baby in CAMC Women's and Childrens hospital. So we sat in the waiting room while she visited the baby.

Then we went to the Charleston Town Center for a little bit. We had some Chic-fil-a, which was good! Then when we were on the way home...driving on the interstate...Cassie was driving and a truck in front of us slammed his brakes. Cassie barely missed hitting it...then we got plowed in the back by a Buick Skylark!!

Judging by the sound of the crash, I assumed the trunk was smushed in. Really though, there was very minimal damage to Cassie's car. We were just sitting there on the edge of the interstate. It was kinda scary. Everytime a semi drove by the car shook! This is when I snapped these photos.

After that got all straightened out we headed over to Brian & Jessica's house. We played Cassie's Wii & her Wii Fit. It was pretty cool. I liked the Wii Fit. I was pretty good at the yoga stuff, although I was TERRIBLE at the games.

On the way out of their house, I fell down their snow-covered steps. I didn't hurt myself, don't worry. I hate the snow. Its supposed to be really warm tomorrow. I hope it heats up and melts this nasty, dirty snow.

Tomorrow we are going to Jesse's brothers house to watch the Superbowl. I'll probably spend a lot of time playing with the babies :)

snow day numero tres

Wow... Last night I was working out when my Mom called to tell me there was going to be a 2 hour delay today. All subs love 2 hour delays! You get to sleep in, work less, and get paid the same amount. Snow days, on the other hand, kinda stink. I'll admit, its always nice to have an unexpected day off. You can loaf around the house and not even feel guilty about it. But, of course, subs don't get paid on snow days. So, its mixed emotions. Jesse's emotions aren't mixed at all; he hates snow days. hahaha. Although Putnam County is making up all snow days (at least until a certain date) this year. So, I may not be making the money now, but it means I will work longer into the summer. Of course, working when its 72 degrees outside and beautiful isn't a fair trade. Oh well.

Technically I guess today isn't really a snow day at all. School was cancelled because of the terrible, bitter cold. This morning's low was -2. Yes, a little chilly for all those poor little boys and girls standing at bus stops and walking to school. Wimps. My Granddad told me he walked 2 miles to school in the freezing weather uphill both ways. hahaha...thats a true story. I remember him telling me that...and thinking, "Why in the world didn't you just walk down the hill??" hahaha.

The best part about snow days is that Kitsy loves them! She cuddles with me all morning..just purring her little fool head off. She gets up with me...follows me around everywhere. As I am typing this, sitting at the kitchen table, she is sitting on my lap, still purring away.

I took this photo with my laptop's web cam, since I couldn't exactly get up to go get my camera. Its teeny. :(

I made myself some pancakes for breakfast. They were delicious...almost completely whole wheat. My family has a weird thing we do with pancakes. While they are hot, we smear peanut butter all over them (instead of butter) and then we put maple syrup on top of that. Its delicious, but people always think its strange. If you like peanut butter, you should try it. Although I suggest using NATURAL peanut butter because regular JIF is FULL of partially hydrogenated fat.

Just a moment ago, I got a phone call from a lady at the Putnam County board office. She said that I got the job for the Community Ed. Art class teacher. They have to wait and see if they get enough students who want to take the class. Right now I'm figuring that there won't be enough students 'cause thats what happened last time. But...its worth a shot. Just in case, now I have to come up with a supply list and put some thought into what I'd have them do.

I REALLY need to go to the grocery store. But... I'm not sure if I want to brave the cold.

Tomorrow I made plans with Cassie Hite to go visit with her and have some breakfast. I'm looking forward to that.

as I get older...the weeks go by faster

This week flew by.

I subbed every day but Monday (due to the eye situation)

I already posted about Tuesday and subbing for the Band teacher at Buffalo. On Wednesday night I was waiting and waiting to get a call. At around 9:30 I was fairly sure that I wouldn't get a job (because they stop calling at 10pm)

But...at 9:45 the phone rang. It was a job offer for a PE teacher...He taught 2 Intro to the Majors classes which went by really well.

Then, during 4th Block he had a gym class. But...there was on hitch. They were having a Blood Drive that day...so the gym was full of tables, nurses, orange juice and raisins. So, they couldn't have Gym class in there. It was raining outside. So, I found the principal walking in the Commons Area. He said to have them sit on the tables in the Commons and have a "study hall" period. Ok.

This turned into a babysitting period of me watching them listen to their MP3 players. Which is no big deal.....if they could just behave.

One kid was really getting on my nerves. I had to say something to him 3 or 4 times. He kept screaming across the Commons, etc. Finally I had had it...and I told him to get his things and move to a table by himself. He immediately reacts defensively saying, "What?! I didn't do anything!!" and crap like that.

I told him to move again. He refused. Just then, the principal walked through the Commons again. I said, "Do you want me to get Mr. Donalson to have you move?" He said "Yeah!" Mr. Donalson looked at the kid and said, "My office NOW!"

So later I had to go to his office and talk to the kids mom. Mr. Donalson said that he "rung him out" hahaha...

That wasn't all the went wrong with the class either. There is a kid with MI in there and one second he was sitting there...I turned around...and then he was GONE! I was kinda freaking out, but luckily he came back about 20 minutes later.

Oh, and that wasn't all...a kid rubbed a handfull of crushed deodorant all down another boys face. It was all over the floor. By the end of that class I felt like pulling out all of my hair.

Luckily the rest of the week I spent at Winfield Middle School with my Mom. I subbed for the Spanish teacher. The kids were great, smart, well behaved, funny, and very friendly. I can't wait to come back! And of course it was nice to be so close to my Mom.

On Friday night after school I went to the Mall with my friend, Cassie! I left my house at 4:30 to meet her there at 5. As soon as I got on the Interstate at Hurricane I saw BRAKE LIGHTS! AhhhH! I was in traffic from Hurricane to Milton... It took me 1 hour and 35 minutes to get from my house to the Mall, which is less than 20 miles.

I had a good time hanging out with Cassie though... Didn't buy anything though. Well, except for a tube of hairball medicine for Kitsy from Complete Petmart. Cassie and I had dinner at Bob Evan's. I had their Country Spinach Salad and I swear it was huge. It was really good, but I bet it was a whole bag of Spinach. (hmmm, that explains a lot about my poo this afternoon.)

This morning I cooked pancakes for breakfast and then went to Elder Beerman and Walmart (where I saw Brian & Jessica)

I told my mom that I would make a dessert for tomorrow so I made a layered chocolate pie. It looks so good!! Its a shame that I had to lick 4 mixing bowls all by myself...hehehe!

now...its time for a shower! Goodnight!

Is that your eye or an egg mcmuffin?

Sunday night... I was sitting on the coach, playing on the computer.....and my Kitsy came and slept on my lap for awhile. Shortly after that my eye started itching....and I shouldn't have. But I scratched it.

Shortly after that, it started to burn..and itch more...and then it started to swell.

It got so swollen that it was almost swollen shut.. I made Jesse go to Kroger and buy me some Benadryl. I took 2 of those...which may have helped, but I'm not really sure because 30 minutes later I was snoring in my bed.

When I woke up it was still swollen. I got a couple of sub calls but they were all crappy ones that I woudn't want to do on a normal day, let alone with a red, itchy, swollen eye.

Later that morning I took another Benadryl....and then slept from noon to 2:30. The pills seriously made me feel woosey and drunk. They are great sleeping pills though.

At 4 I was supposed to run with Amy....but I was feeling rather sluggish. Plus she called and said she needed to go be with her mom for awhile, so we didn't run.

I attempted to run around here, but it didn't work....so Jesse and I went for about a 2 mile walk instead.

While I was in the shower on Monday night I got my 1st and only sub call...it was for Mr. Hopkins, the Band teacher at Buffalo High School.

So, thats where I was today.... It was basically a babysitting day of me watching long-haired boys play hackeysack. But... I got to leave early at 2 pm. :)

After school Jesse and Brian went to play tennis at the park...and I went with them and ran around 5 miles. Then I cooked a new recipe, baked salmon with a honey mustard pecan glaze. It was pretty good.

Just a few minutes ago I got a sub call for tomorrow.... I'll be teaching 2 classes of Intro to the Majors and 1 PE class. I'll be reporting about how that goes soon.

I'm looking forward to the end of this week... Thursday and Friday I'll be teaching Spanish at the middle school where my mom works...and then on Friday night my friend Cassie and I are making plans to spend some time together!!

wahooO!

Its another morning before going to the barrel....and today I'm actually really excited to go!

Yesterday I worked with Cassie Hite for the first time in forever!! I had such a good day because we talked all day and it made the time go by really fast.

And... I'm excited about today because she works with me again!! YAY!

We are thinking about going to a Zumba trainer workshop to be able to teach Zumba. I think it would be so much fun!

After work yesterday I ran 4 miles...then Jessica came over and we did a 20 minute Jillian DVD.... then we all went to Walmart together. Jesse and I got the Tuesday special from Subway...and then we came back home and Jessica went home too.

After that I played on the Internet for a few hours. (I know, I feel like a bum)

Well...now I gotta go get ready for CB!
