sunday..not so fun day
Went to church this morning at Agape.. it was pretty good. It was the 2nd message in a series titled, "GO" from Pastor Whitfield. He showed a video about Oprah's "megachurch" on Monday nights with A New Earth author, Eckhart Tolle. If you are reading this... just know that no matter what they say about it not interferring with your Christian beliefs...it does. If you believe that Jesus is the way to salvation and that no man comes to God except through Him, then you will have issues with Tolle's teaching.
Speaking of which...did everyone hear the American Idol contestants sing Darlene Zschech's song "Shout to the Lord" on American Idol on Thursday night???????? I was amazed that they would sing that song, although it is an extremely popular Christian song. Wikipedia says that is is sung by an estimated 25 to 30 million churchgoers each week! but anyway... the Idol version cut out the name of Jesus.
Yesterday I had made plans with Jesse to go eat lunch at Qdoba's after church. Then I wanted to go over to the mall and try on some more bathing suits. After that we needed a few things from Walmart and I thought we could pick those up on the way home.
So I told him to turn around and just go to Walmart. I guess I'll have to go to the mall by myself cause Jesse just doesn't have enough patience to shop with me when I'm actually looking for something.
When we got home from Walmart we went over to the apartment complex's gym. I ran 1.75 miles w/o stopping. The stupid treadmill screwed up so I don't know how far I went all together, but...it was about 3.5 miles. It was really hot in there and my face was blood red.
Then I took a bath and read my book. Now I'm reading Nicholas Spark's "The Rescue" which I borrowed from Holli.

Well..after church we did go to Qdoba's and it was very good. Jesse got a chicken burrito (which was $5.79, I think) and I got a chicken quesadilla (which was $6.29) Qdoba's is oddly a LOT like Chipotle and Moe's. The prices are slightly higher than Moe's but I think the taste and quality is a lot better at Qdoba's...but Moe's does give you free chips.
Well, we were headed on the way to the mall..and I knew it was going to take me a while to find some bathing suits and try them all on. I wanted to go to Dillard's, Belk, JCPenney's and Macy's. Anyway...we were on our way and its already like almost 2 o'clock...and Jesse says that he wants to make it home by 3:30 to watch the Master's. haha.... I was supposed to go to the mall and walmart in an hour and a half??

I survived my 1st sub job!
Yesterday was the 1st day I've missed a day blogging in a long time! But I have a good excuse.... on Thursday I was concerned about getting my junk and thoughts gathered for my 1st substitute teaching job that was today.
Cracker Barrel on Thursday may have been the slowest day I can remember EVER! I only had 2 tables in well over 2 hours. I was happy to be training.
When I got home we went over to the apartment's gym and I realized that its freakin' HOT in there..and I don't really like their treadmill. It doesn't have as bunch springy-bounce as mine. So I don't think I'll be going back there.
Thursday night Jesse and I watched "Things We Lost In The Fire." It was kinda different, but a pretty good movie. Its about dealing with death and addiction.
This morning I had to wake up really early. I went to North Forsyth High School which is about a 20 minute drive. The substitute website said that I should be there at 8:20 am. I thought that I should be there at 8 to get myself situated and stuff so I left early, 7:25 am in case of traffic. I stopped at a gas station and got some coffee and still made it there by 7:50.
After I made it into the classroom, I found out that 1st period didn't even start until 8:55!!
1st period was Art I and had 26 students. One loudmouth kid stood up and asked me what my name was... I say, "Mrs. Crouch," He says, "And your first name?" I say, "Erin, but..." He interrupts and says, "& your phone number?" haha....
The teacher left a boring, crappy, old video about M. C. Escher and afterwards the students had to complete a quiz on the video.
2nd period was Art 2 and had 20 students. It went pretty smooth except for 2 boys who asked me if they could go outside and skateboard.
2nd period was over at 12:06 pm and I didn't have another class until 2:11 pm. I talked to Jesse on my cell phone, ate lunch, and watched a little TV. The classroom got NBC, A&E, the Discovery channel, and some other public channels. I got to watch a little Cold Case Files and it made me happy even though I had already seen that episode.
4th period was Art 2 with 20 students, too. It was pretty good but there were 2 girls in there that I recognized from 1st period. I asked them why they were back and at 1st they said that they had Art I and Art II at the same time. I looked for their names on the roster from 1st and they weren't on there...so I asked them why they weren't on both class lists. One said she just transferred to Art I and the other told me she came in there because her real 1st period wasn't doing anything. A few minutes later both girls came up to the desk and apologized for lying to me...you know, once they figured they weren't going to get away with it. I still left a note for their teacher to let her know what they did.
4th period was cut short because they had to go to homeroom and get report cards. I left around 3:50. It was a pretty good day...a long day, but an easy day.
When I got home today I did my yoga video and cleaned the house quite a bit.. I still have more cleaning for tomorrow. I really should go get in the shower. I'm really sleepy!

life is good :o)
Today was actually a good day at Cracker Barrel even though I had to wake up really early! :) I found out that I am training Bronwyn again tomorrow and that makes me happy! And we got outta there a tad bit early. After work I went to the Goodwill and bought a bunch of stuff.....a silicone muffin pan with cups shaped like hearts, two kitty cat food dishes, a t-shirt, yarn, and a wood peg board that I will eventually paint. It was a good trip! :) I wanted to buy a cool spice rack and paint it but...it was 6 dollars...haha.. Tonight a bunch of people that work with Lester and Jesse are coming here. We are having a little cook out so I gotta go get ready for that in a few minutes. I ran on the treadmill earlier... I'm proud of myself.. I ran 5 miles in 55 minutes. So my average speed today was 5.46 mph. I gotta run... maybe I'll write more later |
